- On Tuesday, August 4, 2026 I noticed that Alaska Airlines had cancelled the RedEye flight from Fairbanks and given me a new itinerary that added 14 hours to the trip bringing it to over 24 hours to get from Home to the Resort in Cabo.
- I talked to Mary in Phoenix who was able to get me a more acceptable itinerary on Monday. She told me that both the Tuesday and Wednesday RedEye flights had been cancelled. The new itinerary has only a Seattle layover and drops the Los Angles layover with me instead flying direct to Cabo.
- Mary in Phoenix said that if I call customer care after the trip I could probably talk them into a voucher to compensate for the room charge of the extra day I have to spend in Cabo but that they wouldn't compensate with cash.
- I talked to Jorge (pronounced "Hor-hay") said he was unaware of the promotion for 35% off that I had recently seen.
- On Wednesday, May 20, 2026 I got notice of a schedule change for both to and from Cabo
- To Cabo - Three flight number changes - leave FAI over an hour earlier, arrive SJD three minute earlier
- From Cabo - No flight number changes - one segment change - arrive a few minutes earlier
- On Tuesday, April 28, 2026 I saw a schedule change for the FAI SEA segment on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
- It only increased the flight duration by three minutes but that decreased the SEA layover by three minutes to 42 minutes from an already short layover.
- As long as I don't have to change terminals I should be O.K.
- On Thursday, April 2, 2026 I Called 210-756-1472 to book some Summer Getaway 2026 weeks this summer.
- I booked a week in September at $1,250.00 in a one bedroom master suite.
- I extended a couple of days for a better itinerary from Cabo back to Fairbanks.
- 1,528 + 1,816 = 3,344 * 2 = 6,688 Elite Qualifying Miles * 6 = 40,128 EQ miles YTD for $840.90
