Cabo Itinerary
I was upgraded to first class on one of the segments both on the way to and on the way back from Cabo and got to eat and have some drinks at no extra charge. I pay Alaska Airlines extra for main cabin seats so I can select a window seat and don't use the super saver fares that are not eligible for elite status upgrades. I don't pay for upgrades to premium or first class but like upgrades based on my Gold MVP status. This time I got Isle seats in the last row of First Class. I am O.K. with any seats in First Class but do like 1A when available. I was upgraded to premium for all the rest of the segments which means I can have drinks at no extra charge. For many itineraries I can select the upgrade to premium while booking the fare. Sometimes this includes the ability to select seat 6A which is the first row after first class which I like. Sometimes selecting 6A would require an extra charge but rows 10 or 11 can still be selected without an additional charge.

- On Saturday, October 25, 2025 I found the extra charge that I had suspected when checking out of the resort.
- When I was checking out I noticed that I was being charged a little over $20.00 too much and did a quick scan of the receipt and didn't see the issue. Today I saw that although all the charges were for a single drink which along with the tax and service charge is just under $20.00 I was charged for an additional drink on Monday the 13th. that included a $3.00 tip. I always tip in cash with pesos so this is not my charge. It looks like somebody else's charge got on my bill but it is now too late and I bought somebody a drink or two. I should remember to scan for TIPS in the description. I should have taken the time to get the bill right since I had an hour waiting in the lobby before the shuttle to the airport.
- I ended up the only person in a small cab for the shuttle ride to the airport. The driver spoke English very well and we talked a bit on the way to the airport. He was driving a cab his brother owns and has lived in Cabo San Lucas his whole life or at least sine he went to school there.
- On Tuesday, October 21, 2025 Nearly 24 hours before the flight I saw that I was upgraded to First Class on the SJD to SEA segment.
- I am 14th on the waitlist for the SEA to FAI segment so won't be upgraded.
- On Monday, September 29, 2025 at 4:35 PM just hours before the trip I saw I have been upgraded to 4D in first class for the FAI - SEA segment.
- On Wednesday, June 18, 2025 I added a day to the vacation.
- I now arrive Tuesday, September 30 for a one night at the original Solmar Beach Club Resort before my three week stay at the Playa Grande Resort.
- Alaska Airlines sent me notification of two SEA to SJD direct flight cancellations that affected my itineraries.
- I adjusted by adding a day at the Old Solmar Beach Club Resort prior to the three weeks at Playa Grande.
- The extra day cost $159.70 of which $39.93 was paid and $119.78 is due at the resort.
- The Alaska Airlines schedule changes were at no additional cost but one added an extra stop because even on Tuesday there were no SEA-SJD direct flights.
- New FAI-SEA-LAX-SJD Tuesday, September 30 itinerary
- New Tuesday, September 30 Solmar Resort reservation confirmation
- On Tuesday, May 20, 2025 I confirmed a couple of schedule changes.
- The UNXYQH to FAI Sep 10 change adds six minutes to the layover changing flights only by a few minutes.
- The URHMFD to FAI Oct 22 change increased the SEA Layover from 2 hours 14 minutes to 2 hours 45 minutes.
- On Tuesday, March 25, 2025 I booked this Cabo vacation along with several others.
